INDUSTRY SECTOR: AUDIOVISUAL

Tekt Industries, an Apple MFi certified design house, has partnered with Fusion MusicTech to create an iOS integrated electric guitar, overseeing an initial production run of 2000 units with a contract manufacturer.
Following a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign, Fusion MusicTech brought Tekt Industries a concept and a dream. Within nine months, Tekt, in partnership with Fusion, transformed that prototype and dream into the "world's smartest guitar", which later won an Australian Good Design Award and was featured in the anthill Smart 100.
The Fusion Guitar is the world's first electric guitar with iPhone integration, as well as a built-in high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack, high-efficiency stereo amplifier, and HD quality speakers. With the plethora of high-quality and affordable iPhone apps available, players will now have extraordinary creative control over their sound, including effortless effects and amp modelling, looping capabilities, the ability to record instantly onto their phone, all the while eliminating the usual need for bulky gear and cables (with up to 12 hours playing time).
To make all of this possible, Tekt Industries created a highly compact, yet flexible and powerful, printed circuit board (PCB) and the firmware to drive the connection between the player and the iPhone. Beginning with an Apple certified audio processing DSP, Tekt Industries crafted hardware and firmware, adding a class D amplifier, power management, analogue design, and extended iOS integration.
Tekt Industries is an Apple MFi certified design house, and their design for this project was approved by Apple's rigorous MFi testing, which includes extensive software and electrical stress tests. Following electronics design and firmware development, Tekt worked with Fusion Musictech and a contract manufacturer in China to facilitate the production of this amazing product at scale.
Though plans for the future of the Fusion Guitar remain top secret, Fusion CEO, Con Dekazos was pleased with the level of service, stating that "with any product there are new releases and developments, [and] we look forward to working with you again in the future. Please pass on our sincere appreciation to the entire team."
Tekt Industries has a great relationship with Fusion MusicTech and their parent company, Outerspace Designs, and Tekt is very proud to be involved with the development of another great Australian innovation.
